USB 3 gigabit Ethernet connection and default connection simultaneously

Hello,

I am buying Sony All in one PC with gigabit inbuilt connection : I want to add 2 network connections to this PC : one with internet and one for local networking (Storage) : because this is all in one pc I can't add 2 port nic so I was thinking to get USB 3.0 gigabit Ethernet....my question is with this extension can I connect 2 networks? or only built in port will work? please advice should I buy this or it's better to buy pc with default 2 port gigabit connections ?

you see this pc is dedicated for downloading and it will have its separate Internet connection (it will work 24/7) : I have workstation pc which connected to another internet connection from different ISP both of them will share networked NAS server (Only start when necessary) : I don't want to bridge both internet connections and share it on a common LAN to both PC: hence i need 2 gigabit ports.

Well...the PC and OS will only use one at a time.

You CAN do it. You will need to manually configure the "local" IP parameters. You can not have a default gateway on the local network. The local network will have to have a different subnet than the main network.
