USB and NT4 ?

Does NT4 workstation support USB ? If so, what service pack ? Thanks.

Technically, no, NT4 does not support USB. However, I seem to remember reading about one company that was working on adding USB support to it - I believe I read about it on either www.ntfaq.com or www.sysinternals.com - hope either of those points you in the right direction!

You'll have to upgrade to Windows 2000 for USB support or dual boot and use Window 98.

Hi Pres,

Some 3rd party PCI add in boards have drivers for NT4, so in theory at least the answer is YES!.

Microsoft's stand on the matter however is that NT 4 DOES NOT support USB. Hence many programs/support utils for USB devices detect NT4 as to OS and resfuse to even try and work, even though they would run.

As far as using the on-board USB ports go NT will not support them.
