Hi,

I got an AOC i1601fwux portable monitor and it only has one USB C port. My laptop has USB 3.1, HDMI, and displayport. Is there any kind of adapter that can take the USB C power and video signal from the monitor to my laptop?

Thanks!

The other way around usually. I don't believe your typical USB-C to Display port cable will work. DP isn't designed to provide power. Perhaps someone makes one that plugs into both USB 3.0 and DP so that it gets power.

Would be quite hard to find I would think.

Only other option I can think of would be a powered USB hub that has Type-C ports. No idea if a monitor would work through that. I expect not since the USB port plugged in wouldn't have the DP standard.

This is kind of what I suspected. Just didn't know if there was a solution for this yet. Like something that takes the USB C signal and splits it into two cords, one for the display and one for power. I'm guessing it's too new for something like this to be necessary.

Let me take a look at a few other places, as i do tech for my job and often have to find connectors. Can i ask why you would buy a monitor that you can't connect to your laptop? Was its main use for some other device?
