Question USB C to Ethernet adapter - connecting a phone

My type of work allows me to work anywhere where's a power socket. Currently I've got a router with a sim card in it for wireless connection, and I plug my voip landline phone (part of the job) into it with a RJ45 cable.
Also, I'm running an iPad pro with another sim card for independent connection.

My question is: If I use a Belkin USB C to Ethernet adapter with my iPad, and plug the phone into it, will the phone work?

I'm asking, because all I can see on the web about this adapter, is that you use it to connect the usb c side device to the internet via RJ45.

Probably not. It's an Apple product. Connecting a USB-C device (hub) and connecting an RJ-45 device to it doesn't sound like it'll work in the Apple ecosystem.

The USB C to ethernet adapter is to connect a computer with a USB C port to an ethernet port such as a switch or router. Just connecting a phone to that adapter will give you nothing. Just because the iPad has an ethernet connection on it now does not make it work like a router does.
