we have USB-C compatible monitors in the company. USB-C allows you to charge ur laptop and also display image on a external monitor.

we use the USB-C ports in the monitors to connect to laptops with a USB-C port. we also have laptops that dont have a USB-C port, these laptops have USB-A, micro USB, HDMI an a card reader.

my question is, is it possible to plug in USB-C in the monitor and then convert it to one of these ports we have in the laptop and still being able to use the external monitor as a second screen from the laptop? preferably USB-A.

if i use a USB-C to USB-A cable this does not work, is there a way around this either purchable or program wise?
(we use display chain when using a second external screen)

we are trying to get rid of the dockingstations in the company since these cause issues and are rather exspencive.

hope it is still readibly even with my broken english!

kind regards,

user
