[SOLVED] USB C to HDMI - HELP!

Hi there - beginner question please.

I have a MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX Motherboard with only one HDMI out. It also has USB-C and DisplayPort.

My monitors (crappy ones provided by work) only have HDMI in x 2 or VGA.

I was hoping to use a second screen through USB-C to HDMI. I've tried a standalone cable - nothing. I've tried an adapter provided by work - also nothing.

I'm guessing there are technical reasons beyond my understanding which someone might be able to help with. Could anyone tell me if there is a specific adapter or cable I need to make this work? I'd really not rather use VGA if possible.

The monitors are AOC M2470SWH.

Thanks for your help in advance

Solution
Use DP to HDMI adapter instead.

USB-C doesn't automatically support video output.
Motherboard specification must mention USB-C port support for HDMI alt mode or DP alt mode.
MSI PRO Z690-A doesn't support it.
