Hi,
I've been looking for a USB-C hub with power delivery for a while now and I was wondering if there is a technical reason all of the products currently on the market offer a USB-C plug to connect to the host, one additional USB-C port for the power delivery, yet only offer Type-A receptacles in the hub?
When I bought my new MacBook I invested in USB-C cables for my existing peripherals to avoid the need for a convertor which was great but creates the issue with charging the MacBook when anything else is plugged in.
What I really want is a USB-C hub with power delivery offering USB-C ports. Does this exist? Is this even possible? I read briefly about the PD specification for upstream and downstream ports and got me wondering if what I'm after is even technically possible. And on that point, would the PD controller be able to deal with the situation where more than one power source could potentially be plugged in at the same time?
Thanks.
