USB Cables with ferrite chokes

Is it okay to use a USB cable with ferrite beads or ferrite chokes with a device that did not come with that cable? It's a standard cable except it has the bead/choke.

Use away, it's ok to use
on USB cables Ferrite kinda useless anyway, not much high frequency noise there to suppress.

Actually, whether or not there's much high frequency noise present depends, of course, on what equipment you have nearby and particularly how much of it is the new wireless types of accessories now becoming more and more plentiful/popular. Ferrite chokes on USB cables may or may not be useful, but certainly cannot hurt. 😛
