USB configuration?

Hello,Had recently purchased a multi-card reader by Sony and installed it in my HP xw8400 workstation. I get an error message telling me that the USB is disconnected. Is the plug connection different Sony...1-2 VCC, 3-4 -DATA, 5-6 +DATA, 7-8 shield/grd.10- not conn. Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried the card reader on another computer? Chances are its faulty, and may need replacement.
