So I've been hearing the usb connect/disconnect sounds when I'm using my PC, this only started happening after I started playing skyrim again.

When I was playing skyrim, the game would run fine for about 20mins before my monitors would start spazzing and my monitors kept switching between "no signal detected" and showing a black screen. The USB connect/disconnect sounds can be heard during this time. Skyrims BGM was still playing though.

After more frustrations with this problem, the usb sounds now start to randomly play even when I'm not playing. I can even hear it as I'm typing this. I've already checked my devices and all of them are functioning properly and when I play skyrim now, I would either crash to desktop or go into a black screen windowed mode after 20mins.

Any kind of help would be much appreciated in tackling this random sounds. Thanks in advance :)

Solution
Nice built.

1. Can you try different cable or use it in other pc?
2. If the monitor shutdown, is the display looks like the same a monitor power unplugged?
3. Is there any setting on your monitor like Power Save mode, or 20 mins auto shutdown?
4. While in gaming, can you lower down the resolution?
5. Temp monitoring:
Monitor your GPU temp (i.e. GPU-Z or MSI Afterburner), monitor your cpu temp (coreTemp or RealTemp). See the graphs for any temperature / voltage abnormalities.
6. Are your in Over-clocking? Try set to your cpu speed in default and try play Skyrim again.
7. USB sound, will you elaborate further.. The sound is coming from your system speaker. Could be usb connected device is trying to install driver but cannot be due to...
