USB device not recognized

Hi,

I've been using my drobo for many years and never had issues with USB ports. As of today, my windows 8.1 decided it did not want to accept my drobo's USB. I get this error message.

The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. Recommendation Try reconnecting the device. If windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly

This error message is false. I've connected the drobo to another Windows 8.1 machine and it worked perfectly fine running a 860 chipset. Why all of a sudden without any updates or unusual updates did this windows 8.1 decide it does not like my drobo?

Could be a glitch on that PC. What do you see in Device Manager with that device attached? Are there any flagged devices under the USB section, and if so, what does it say in that device's Properties dialog?

here is a simple solution. you can try this too.

Install "wpdmtp"

Go to “C:\Windows\INF” on your computer.
Search “wpdmtp.inf” and right click on it.
Click on the install.
After complete the installation, USB device not recognized error will fixed.
