Hello all. I recently transfered all my parts to a new case and now am receiving usb device over current error. I have tried many of the solutions on this forum and have come up empty. I removed the front usb cables, reset cmos, checked the motherbaord ports for damage. Booted out of the case. Nothing has worked.

I have noticed that when i try plugging in my keyboard to the usb 2.0 ports on the motherboard it does not light up yet when i try the usb 3.0 ports it does work. The front usbs work as well however im not able to enter the bios either ways.

If anyone has any other suggestions that would be awesome.

My motherboard is the asus b75m

When you moved everything to the new case, did you inspect the stand-offs pre-mounted in the back of that new case to be SURE they all line up with the mobo mounting holes? IF there are any stand-offs under the mobo in a spot that is NOT right under a mobo mounting hole, that can create a short circuit from mobo back-side traces to the case.

It starts up but cannot enter bios. It will detect keyboard in front usb ports and usb 3.0 on mobo but not usb 2.0 ports. I have tried removing front usb headers. Didnt help.

I made sure the standoffs were in the correct spots for the motherboard.
