USB Disconnects

So these are my buddie's system specs.

RAM - 8GB Corsair
CPU - Core i5-2300
MOBO - ASUS P8H67-M PRO/CSM (REV 3.0)
GPU - ASUS GTX 560 Ti
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB
OS - Windows 7 64bit

650 watt power supply


He is having two issues involving his USB devices.

1. Occasionally his mouse will disconnect and reconnect

2. And more rare is ALL his USB devices will disconnect and will not reconnect with out a systems reboot.

I have done a few searches and and aside from drivers updates (which he swears he has done), I have heard it might be a power issue?

I haven't gotten any concrete answer yet though.

This happens with ALL the usb ports? Front ones and the ones in the back including the usb 3 ports?

Yes it happens with ALL the USB ports. He doesn't use the 3.0 one as far as I know.
