USB Drive only recognized for a couple of seconds?

Hi, I recently bought a USB drive from eBay and today it has stopped working, well when plugged in it is loaded for a couple of seconds and then it disappears. Anybody have any ideas?

I have one idea - - don't buy such relatively cheap items from Ebay. Buy from a shop or an online vendor's site such as Amazon.

ah i think sometimes it happens with me .Well i have no idea how and why , but i think your usb is may be loose, well whatever try doing this ,
don't mind the heading, follow the instruction inside and may be next time it will show up for long

also before formating why don't you try attaching your usb to other port on pc it may help
