USB drivers missing?

For some reason my XP run computer has decided that it cannot find drivers
for my cordless mouse, my scanner and new camera. It didn't find any drivers
for my new camera so I thought I'd uninstall all the USB drivers and try
hooking up my USB mouse, etc. one by one. Well, now it can't find any of the
drivers. How can I fix this? I don't have any drivers on the software -- all
the manufacturers says that XP should recognize the device. Well, it
recognizes that there's a new device, but can't seem to locate any drivers.
Help!

honhi96825,
It may be missing firmware drivers (chipset) for your motherboard. If
you go to the manufacturers web-site, you can download and install
these for your particular computer.
Here's a link for general usb info;
'General USB troubleshooting in Windows XP'
Best,

this same thing happened to me just last week. what I did was unplug all my
usb devices then rebooted the pc. the machine would bring up the new hard
ware wizard. I would then search for the drivers using the windows search
page and try them one at a time to see if the wizard would accept them if it
did then the wizard would ask for another file by name which was then easy to
find. I did this until all my drivers were loaded. as best I can tell there
are three files involved in a driver as sys, a dll and an inf.
unfortunately you are in for the long haul it took me 24hours but it actualy
gets easier as you go through this process. It may be that some else knows a
better way. and are willing to help if so just ignore this
