[SOLVED] USB extension for controller

Greetings, I game on pc and I use a wired xbox360 controller,sometimes I feel like playing from the couch but the cord is not long enough, can I fix this with an USB extension? Is there any downside any input delay or lag? Will any extension be OK? I'm thinking about 5 meters will be enough, thanks.

Up to 5 meters any good (shielded) extension should work.

Yes, shielded by metal mesh around the cable, it's under the insulator. Stops external electromagnetic signals to interfere, otherwise a bare wire is just an antenna. Such cables also have larger gauge wire and with it less resistance. Don't know were you can look for them but such properties are likely to be advertised in catalogs.
