Hello,
I've just bought a couple of peripherials:
- an USB-C 3.0 extension cord ( https://www.delock.com/produkte/177...3-1-Type-C--male---female/85533/merkmale.html )
-an USB 3.0 hub (specifically this one: https://www.unitek-products.com/pro...-aluminium-hub-with-card-readers-100w-pd-port )
I also have some example USB devices, like an USB mic and mouse.
The mic and mouse work well when connected directly to the PC. Likewise, if I connect the hub to the PC and then connect the devices to the hub - they work well. However, when I connect the hub to the PC via the USB-C extension cord and then connect the mic to the hub - it's not recognised. The lights on the mic light up but Windows don't see it. In the case of the mouse, not even its LEDs light up.
On the other hand, if I connect a USB pendrive this way, it works correctly.
Unfortunately I don't have any usb-c devices to test the extender by itself.
The manufacturer's specification is a bit of a mess (it's 3.1 in the title and 3.2 in the specification) but doesn't describe the cable's supported function, as far as I can tell. It has a 32 AWG data line and a 24 AWG power line, but that doesn't really tell me much.
The retailer, on the other hand, lists the functions as just "data transfer".
Does this mean the extenders is ONLY good for data transfer (i.e. pendrives and cameras) and I need something like this?

I'm extremely dismayed by this as I've always assumed the USB standard is... universal and uniform (apart from thunderbolt).
This is what I see when I connec the hub via the extender:
And this is what I see when I connect the hub directly to the PC:
I've seen this thread https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...ng-when-connected-to-extension-cable.3700387/ with an identical issue but it looks like the answers don't really pertain to the problem described there? (they talk about USB standards and cable length for some reason).
