I searched all over the web and here on Tom's Hardware and have not found a recent comprehensive USB Flash Drive review. The last one that Tom's Hardware did was in May of 2005. That review only covered a few devices. The USB flash drive has become a common item used by most computer owners. There have been many advances in both speed and capacity in two years.

I submit that there would be a great interest in a comprehensive review of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB drives. If this site produced a chart much like the one's it has for CPUs and Hard Drives I suspect that it would generate a great number of hits by people looking for information on such devices; which would generate more advertising revenue for this site.

I was just looking for the same thing and there isn't one.

T.H. really needs to do a review for this - almost everyone I know has a USB drive, even those that aren't very computer literate.

The investment in time and resources by Tomshardware.com in publishing a roundup of "currently available USB flash drives" should return many more 'hits' than the same effort in a roundup of more costly computer components. The reward to tomshardware.com would be greater than for its efforts in publishing other roundup articles on components like graphics cards, CPUs and hard drives.
It seems logical that there are many more purchases of USB flash drives than CPUs, graphics cards, RAM memory, hard drives and power supplies, because of the great difference in purchase prices. Therefore, the potential buyers will be looking for information many more times per year and searching the internet and finding the roundups that tomshardware.com could produce.

I have done some testing of my own 3 drives and there have been some good reviews of a small selection of USB drives. But still nothing comparing a large variety and certainly not comparing the most common brands - all of the review sites I've seen test a lot of drives I've never seen available anywhere.

TH could definitely get a lot of the google search results if they did a comprehensive USB drive review, but it seems as though nobody here cares any more.
