usb flash drive not allowing me to save

i tried to save on my flash drive and it didnt allow me.
no excel files, no word files, no pictures. it will open and allow me to
view but i cant even update anything on the file and save it.
help pls

On many flash drives there is a write protect switch of some kind. Examine
yours closely and see if there is such a switch on yours.
