when I plug my usb flash drive, it is easily recognized as drive F:. but when i click on the removable drive's icon it will say 'please insert a disk into drive F:'. Is my flash drive dead? Is there a way to fix this?

I think there's some file system corrupt, or even the virus or malware program...
Try to scan your computer, and if that's not help then re-install OS, that should fix it...
Have u try your flash drive to another computer?

Make sure that
the flash drive is good before you do anything to your computer.

Can you read/write to it when it is plugged into the back panel?
If yes, case wiring is messed up.
If no,

Try the drive in another computer. Can you read/write to it there?
If yes, your computer hardware or software is messed up.
If no, you know the drive is bad because it does not work in two computers.

I can't do anything with it no read, no write even if i plug it at the back panel, it's still detected as a hard disk though and as 'usbest usb2flashstoragedevice usb device' i'm sure that's not what it used to be. when i go to system tools and go to disk management the removable storage is there but labeled as 'no media'. I really need to recover files in this flash drive, but it seems really impossible now. Please help :)
