USB Flash drive showing up as Basic Drive Online?

So i tried to format this usb flash drive but got an error a little way through. Something like "Windows failed to format this drive" Then it dissapeared from removable devices. In disk managment, it comes up as a basic disc, with unallcolated space.

did you create a partition on it first? Can't just format Unallocated space
