please Halp meh !

i just got a brand new xbox one afterglow controller non-wireless and it turns off after 3-5 mins
when in a game and the controller turns off i cant turn it on again ( unplugging/replugging dosen't help)
when this happens my mouse derps out and in lagging around the screen and making a wired ping sound in the headset when i try to press the mouse button
i then have to use my keyboard to restart the pc...

i also had a logitech g930 wireless headset that turned off but that one i could turn back on by pressing the button on the headset

things i tried:
usb 2.0 & 3.0 (no change)
motherboard driver update (no change)
unplugging mouse while controller was active (no change)
updating xbox controller drivers (no change)

as of the usb g930 wireless headset never got that to work either...
sold it off and the guy never had the same problem

running windows 10

what kind of annoying sorcery is this !?

pc spec:
i7 4790k
16gb hyperx ram
asus sabertooth mark 1 z97
corsair rm 850 psu
gigabyte gtx 980ti xtreme gpu

First of all, make sure you are always on USB 2.0, ad 3.0 could cause some of the problems you have suggested.

Try plugging the controller to the back of your motherboard. There could possibly be some conevtivity issues between your motherboard and case.
