Question USB hub 3.0 but giving 2.0 speed

My USB 3.0 hub is plugged on one of my mobo back USB 3.1 but when I use either external SSD or SD card reader the speed is limited to 40mb/s aka USB 2.0 speed.
I tried to switch USB port on the back USB but still it's giving 2.0 speed.
I tried also to use the AC adapter but it didn't change the speed, could it be a motherboard driver or Win 10 using a usb 2.0 hub driver instead of 3.0?

USB "speed" is the highest it's rated for theoretically. But in practice, the transfer speed is usually much slower.

The SD card reader is giving me 90mb/s on a direct usb 3.0 port, on the hub it's 40mb/s
