[SOLVED] USB Hub

Just a general question about USB hubs, due to the fact that I'm starting to need one. If I get a non PCIe slot hub, will it effect the devices plugged into it in any way, or is it just as simple as plug it into a USB slot and it works fine? And does anybody have any recommendations for a certain non PCIe hub? (Only need a few slots like 4 or so)

An external hub does not in any way affect the things plugged into it. I use one for external DAC's and sound quality is not changed at all. Windows doesn't like having 3 or 4 DAC's plugged into the motherboard for some reason but an external hub solved it for me. I've been using this Anker for a couple of years now. I also have a Corsair mouse and RGB mousepad plugged into it. Every 4 or 5 months I have to unplug it ( at the device ) to hard reboot it when some of the RGB doesn't work right but it's rock solid other than that.

Any Anker hub will be the same high quality.

I have this one attached to the bottom of my monitor and haven't had any issues with it but I've only used 3 ports simultaneously so far.

Now if they only made one with external power so all the slots could deliver 900ma instead of sharing it between all 4.
