So I'm looking to buy a USB 3.0 hub and was wondering, is all we can do charge devices? or can I plug in like a flash drive a mouse and a keyboard into it? This is because I have a laptop and I'm gonna get a monitor and stuff and move my laptop to another place a I want to be able to plug stuff in. So yea my question is:

Can you plug things like flash drives into a usb hub and like a mouse and keyboard?

* I also have a lightning connector so are there any hubs that turn that into USB 3.0?

Solution
Yes you can plug in just about anything into the USB hub. I have all my peripherals plugged into a USB hub so I don't have to make a mess of cables behind my desk. You may or may not encounter some device recognition problems, really depends on the device you plug in. I'm unsure about the lightning connector and there's a chance you could encounter compatibility issues if you connect the USB hub via one of those. If you really want to use a lightning connection just use a lightning cable with a lightning connector on one side and USB on the other.
