Usb i o error

Hello,i cant access the usb drive anymore it gives me an i/0 device error i just installed new windows and stored all my documents and important information in this sandisk u3 cruzer usb .Is there anyway that i can retrieve the info in the usb disk?i am so stressed out any help?

Have you tried a different PC? What error do you get?

^ yes, check to see if the drive works on a different pc. if it does then perhaps your computer is not recognizing some usb ports for some reason.

if it is a desktop try using the back ports instead of the front ones. does this work? if so perhaps the port is burned out. if not then perhaps you do not have drivers installed correctly.
