Usb iomega hdd drive is not is not opening

I have had a USB Iomega harddrive for 1 year.It has always worked without a problem until i unplug it without safety removal , about a week ago when without warning, it stopped being recognised by the computer. I have never before had any problems with it.

When you connect it to a usb port does the light turn on the HDD? Do you hear the drive spinning?Try a different cable and different port. Some program will destroy or override the FAT or the MBR of the hdd and cause it to be unreadable. I use EaseUS to recover the MBR of the HDD when this happens.. But when this happens im using programs that format,resize,partition
