Usb Jtag Points?

Does anyone know how to figure out where the points would be to solder wires on a usb thumb drive board? I have a cable set up, but I just cant figure out how to trace it... Thank you for any help.

What are you trying to do exacatly?

If just trying to solder an extension cable from the board (if say the port got damaged) then you just need a usb pinout diagram

Yes sir, I have tried that. I tried to solder the wires to the pads right behind the usb slot. The thumb drive is unresponsive when I go that route. I can put it in with nothing soldered on, and the computer will recognize it but it doesn't know what it is? I wish I could figure out how to post a pic.....
