I've been having an issue with a Scorpion K201 keyboard for a while now where it will not be connected upon starting up my computer or disconnecting while in use. I've been able to solve this issue before by unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in (or, at one point, just restarting my computer entirely), but as of today doing that no longer solves the issue at all.

My computer is a custom-build that I finished just a few weeks ago and is running on Windows 10.

I'm certain it's not a cable or key problem, as when I plug it into my laptop (from which I am writing this) it works just fine. I'm also fairly sure it's not a port issue, as I've moved my mouse (which is working fine) and keyboard USBs into each other's ports and the mouse has continued to work fine. I've tried following a number of the suggestions in this thread but nothing's worked: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2891687/keyboard-disconnecting-reconnecting-randomly.html
Anyone have any other suggestions for fixing this problem?

EDIT: I've started getting a popup message telling me that "the last USB device you connected to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it".

Solution
My last solution would be that you unplug everything except your mouse and keyboard / WiFi stick if you have one for internet uninstall all keyboard listed and try the last option i asked you to try but apply it to all Universal Serial Bus Controllers other than that I'm out of idea : / hope this works out
Maybe you could try control panel>hardware and sound>device manager keyboard uninstall driver then right click on (Name-PC) scan for hardware change it should reinstall the driver maybe it's a driver malfuction 😛 give feed back if it worked !

Unfortunately not. It gives me the same feedback, telling me "the device descriptor request failed"

I found this video that shows the problem I have (though it offers no solution that works), in case that helps anyone help me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEBARf2Lo_k

Made my keyboard nonfunctional for you try this :control panel>hardware and sound>device manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers then find the nonfunctional USB controller 1)right click on it and choose update driver software 2) Browse my computer for driver software 3) let me pick from a list of device drivers 4) choose the top one.
do that for all bad controller drivers you should hear your keyboard connect and see it appear back on the list personally i had to do the both drivers update before it recognize it again PS: it happens to me when i connect my old cellphone that has bad driver issues it disconnect my keyboard for no reasons. Hope this helped 😀

The only option I've given for Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) is "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" - and when I try installing that the installation fails. I sorted by "view by connection" and updated the two files it was under, but each time it blinked like you said it would it just continued to tell me Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

I've found, however, that if i plug the USB cable into either of my front USB ports (or just one or the other, it appears finicky) it works perfectly fine. However, the USB slots themselves continue to work fine whenever I plug other USB devices into them.

Your image also tell me that I should be seeing no keyboards listed, but I am seeing a keyboard listed. (with four hidden identicle keyboard devices hidden).
