[SOLVED] USB Keyboard Not Working on Mac

I bought a keyboard to use with my Macbook but after I plug it in the keyboard assistant comes up telling me to press the key on the right of the left shift key, which is "Z". But after I press it nothing happens. It's been stuck like this for about 30 minutes.

It's possible the keyboard could be malfunctioning or is not supported by the OS. Close out of the keyboard setup and try typing anyway. If that doesn't work, un-plug and plug it into the other USB port. If it's still not working, you'll most likely need to get another keyboard.
