[SOLVED] USB mass storage driver error.

Hi, So I am using hard disk from my old laptop(Win 10) using SATA cable and managed to connect it to my new laptop( Win 11) but it is not showing up in disk management and there is an error which states - USB Mass storage has a driver problem- when I troubleshooted it from the devices & printers. I tried uninstalling-restarting method but its not working. Any help would be highly appreciated.

That adapter will not work with a hard drive.
Only some 2.5" HDDs would work with that.

That drive needs something with wall power.

Thank you, but I did not get that. I think the cable is working fine, because when I connect it, I can see the driver under my devices and printers but there is a yellow error sign with that.

You're detecting the cable, not the drive.

Something like this, that has the relevant voltage.

An HDD requires 5v and 12v.
The USB cable you have can only supply the 5v.

Some 2.5" laptop HDDs can run with only the 5v, but some cannot. Especially older ones.
