Hi everyone! This forum has been of great help to me from building PCs to all kinds of software problems that needed fixing. This is the first time I'm actually asking for help coz I haven't been able to find any solution for this one.
I recently installed Windows 8.1 (after being on Win7 for a few years). I'm very happy with new OS, it's running a lot smoother. Anyway, I can't seem to get my microphone to pick up any sound other then blowing air straight into it.
I am using Logitech C170 webcam that has a built-in microphone that worked great for me on Windows 7. Today after trying to tune my guitar through it it couldn't pick up any sounds. I spent hours to try and fix this issue, reading forums, watching videos,... Nothing helps. It's USB connected, I don't have microphone boost option in Windows. At first I thought it was the device issue, since it worked fine in every program that requires microphone (from Skype calls to games) so I tested it on my laptop (Windows 7) and there's no problems with it.
I've seen people saying it's a Windows issue with USB microphones, but no one gives any solution. Is it possible that a most used OS in the world has this problem and that there's no way of fixing it? If there is any solution for this, please help... I don't care if I need a 3rd party program or anything else software related, I'm willing to do it rather then buying a whole new set up...
Thank you in advance.
