USB mouse light up but doesn't move and button doesn't work

My USB mouse light up but doesn't move it's connected but cursor and buttons doesn't work. Need help

Have you tried disconnecting it, restarting (turning off and back on) the laptop and then reconnecting it? Also, was the system recently updated? If so, the driver may have been overwritten/updated and you need to reinstall the older driver.

Lastly, did you check to make sure the mouse still actually works and is not damaged/dead itself? I would test it on another device to be sure.
