USB mouse undetected when installing windows 7 on ASUS laptop X541UA-RH71

I am trying to install windows 7 onto the laptop ASUS laptop X541UA. I can boot from DVD, but, in the windows 7 installation screen there is no USB mouse detected (laptop keyboard works fine).


It is already plugged into USB 2.0 port. 3.0 port of course doesn't work either. I can see the mouse light on though. This is laptop, no PS2 port.

BIOS version: American Megatrends 2.17.1249
USB legacy support: ON. Otherwise mouse light is not even on.
Secure boot: disabled.

you'll need to locate and install USB drivers. Asus only has support for win0 on this laptop so we will need to findout which chipset this has and find the win7 drivers for that.

I would start with the Intel INF Update Utility
