I have a USB that keeps telling me to format. I have looked at hundreds of posts about this and i have tried what I'm guessing is EVERYTHING but I just can't afford to send it off and I DESPERATELY need it. Yes I have hard copies of almost everything on there but I NEED to get access to the books I write and they are on that drive. I have done the chkdsk and get told that the drive is RAW. I have done about 100 of the recovery softwares. half of them don't find the drive and the other half do but tell me there are no missing files or partitions. I tried the windows explorer and doing the test but it comes back and tells me the drive is working properly. I'm at my wits end and so desperate that someone seriously told me to put it in the freezer and I tried that. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hmm, I wouldn't want to risk doing any more damage. Download that tool anyway and make an image of the drive. That way I can try to walk you through fixing it without touching the original and risking damage to any data that is present.

do i want to download binary or source? Sorry I'm not really sure about all of this

I have a program I downloaded last night that allows me to make an image of the disk. Is that what I want to do?

Ontrack Easyrecovery Enterprise

rawwritewin tells me there is no floppy disk
