Question USB not recognised by PC

I've got a metal Toshiba 32GB USB stick which has suddenly stopped being recognised by computers. When I plug it in, nothing appears in This PC and in device manager I get 'Unknown USB Device - Device Descriptor Request failed'.

Is there anything I can do to get it working again? I don't mind if I lose what's on it as most of it was backed up elsewhere - I just could do with the stick itself.

If its not working or recognised on others computers then the USB stick is gone. Its probably not famous brand one?
