USB not working?

Ok so i've had this problem before where none of the USB 2.0 ports are working but the 3.0 ports do. Before when i had this problem it was because of windows update, i did the update and everything was fine. Now there is no windows update and i can't seem to work out what the problem is, has anyone experienced the same problem?

Make sure that your USB 2.0 ports aren't loose from youth motherboard? Are these case USB 2.0 or do they stick out of the back of your computer.

It's motherboard USBs, i only have USB 3.0 in the front.
