USB not working

My Sandisk Cruzer 8gb is recognised by my computer, but it cannot open. Sometimes it says that I need to format the disk, and other times it says I need to insert a flash drive. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey Sheners. First make sure you've gotten every important file which you might have on the flash drive. Then try reformatting the drive via Disk Management, but don't do a quick format. Other than that, go to the manufacturer's website and download the formatter tool it offers, to see if it fixes the issue after you reformat it with it.
