USB only works in safe mode

Hi,

For some reason my Windows (even after a clean install) is only able to startup the USB extensible host controller - and with that any usb device - when started in safe mode.

Reinstalling Windows, updating drivers and trying to remove anything not required didn't really help, so I am a bit at a loss what to do from here? Is there any clever way to find out what is causing the issue?

In particular I read that this might be a sign that the mainboard itself might have issues, is that the case?

Solution
have you tried multiple different usb devices, just in case its what you have. Don't use wireless

what motherboard do you have? might need a bios flash perhaps to fix it, its clear they work since it does in safe mode. that makes me think its not motherboard as they work...

where does it stop working? at the login screen?
