I apologise for filling up the forum with another possibly vague situation but here goes:
I recently purchased a Lexar 16G USB pen drive. After doing about 20-30 file transfers etc,I decided to make it Win 7 bootable. After using it for simple file transfers for a couple more times, the drive fails. It won't show up on Explorer, neither Mac nor android systems(via the OTG adapter) seem to recognise it.

It DOES show in Disk mgmt but without showing any info about the capacity or whether the volume is allocated or not.It just cites "Removable (E:) no media"

Does this mean that the controller is working but the flash memory itself is fried?Even if it is wasted,I wanna know more about what exactly is going in.

PS: I also checked testdisk(without being sure if it applies for removable devices as well) but to no avail,it doesn't even show it as a drive

Then it is surely the Lexar that has malfunctioned. Even if it is a USB 3.0 drive, it should function with USB 2.0 slots.
In most cases nothing can be done with it other than being replaced.
I hope it is within warranty and you do not have any critical data on it that is not backed up.
Try using it on different slots. If it doesn't work, check with another USB drive in those same slots. If the other USB drive works just fine, the Lexar one has malfunctioned. If however, no USB drive works in any of the slots, it maybe a larger problem. Give an update accordingly and further suggestion can be given.

Thanks for the reply.I've already tried other USB ports, heck even different PCs and other devices that accept usb drives.
One thing that hit me however is that it's being marketed as USB3.0 (something I totally forgot)
But surely I have no mobo problem,I tried different drives on each port and nothing out of the ordinary occured
