USB plays a few songs and yet full

my usb is 16GB but it plays songs of around 500mb, the rest don't play and other folders appear empty and yet the entire flash shows its occupied, i have tried everything but it only plays those few, what can i do, is it totally unfixable??

Are you entirley sure that the USB isnt fake?
Second if you are using it onto MP3 player or similar, there might be character limit, try renaming songs, yeah I know, pain...
