I recently experienced a power surge warning on one of my front USB ports; after unplugging, I can't seem to plug anything back in. On visual inspection, the damaged port looks different from an undamaged one, but I don't know enough to diagnose the problem or determine whether it can be repaired.

The damaged port is on the left, while the undamaged one is on the right.

Is there anything to be done?

It looks like something was plugged in backward (a common way those ports get damaged). It doesn't look like the pins in that port are touching another pin or metal surface, which is good. There shouldn't be a problem with nothing plugged in there. Do you know the model of the case?

It's an NZXT h500.
