USB port short circuited, which components are affected?

Hi everyone.

I was careless today while plugging in a flash drive, and bent two of the pins in my case's USB port, which touched each other and promptly short circuited my desktop, shutting it down instantly.

It has been unable to start up since. Pressing the power button simply does nothing. I've disconnected the offending USB port from the motherboard and reseated components to no avail.
My search for help was rather fruitless, as apparently this rarely happens. Most people seem to suggest that the motherboard is fried, and perhaps the processor.

But there doesn't seem to be any concrete answer, and most people seem to be able to boot, whereas I don't even have power. Could my PSU be damaged? I'm no electrical genius, but surely a shorted USB port won't destroy my PSU right?
When inspecting my other parts, there are no noticeable burns, nor was there any burnt smell. So I'm really at a loss.

Could my HDD and SSD be damaged too?

My specs are:
Mobo: MSI H97 PC Mate
CPU: i5 4960
GPU: Gigabyte Gtx 770 Windforce 4gb
PSU: Corsair CX750m
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8gb

Any and all advice will be appreciated! Thank you!

Sadly I think you've mistakened my H97 from another variant specifically branded as H97 Guard Pro. I was looking through my board earlier for a reset or manual power on switch but couldn't find any either. Seems like it relies on the casing to start up.
