Usb portable hard drive not working

Hi, my seagate 250 gb usb hard drive, suddenly stopped being recognised, on pc and tv. Tried different leads and pc's, still no lucky. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it spinning up, or not making any sound at all? You might want to try removing the drive from the casing (which would void the warranty) and connecting it directly to a machine.

If you connect it directly to a machine and it's not spinning at all then sending it to a data recovery center is pretty much the only option at that point. If it is spinning and Windows says it's unformatted you could try running recuva or one of the many similar programs to it on the drive.
