Hello,
I've been struggling to even get to this page using only a keyboard. However, a week or two ago I upgraded my PC specs from a Sapphire Radeon HD card to a EVGA 970, my CPU from a FX 4170 to a FX 8370. Everything was fine, I installed all new drivers and such. (Not sure if this is related to the issue)

So I decided to clean up some space on my HDD and I made sure to get rid of all old AMD grapgics drivers as well. However, as I'm done I launch ARK, went and made myself something to eat. As I got back all screens were black and wouldn't turn on by Mouse or Keyboard (I thought it had entered sleeping mode). I reboot my PC and everything's working fine. I play the game, go to sleep. The next day I boot up, mid-session no response from neither Mouse or Keyboard. I figured this is what happened yesterday, try to reboot - this time no USB devices seem to work, mouse is blinking so there's power. I figured keyboard might work in BIOS as lights shut off as windows boot up. I enable IOMMU, double check Legacy USBs and so on, all seems well, nevertheless stuck outside windows.

Confused as I am I start rambling forums, whipped out my PS/2 keyboard, got into windows finally and started checking drivers. From that point, I've checked windows update about 2000 times, I've updated all AMD drivers for sure, motherboard and chipset drivers aswell. I read about fixes in deleting the ports in Device Manager and restarting, no success. I read about deleting, copying and changing security in driverstore but no success there either.

I'm out of methods that had worked for others and ran out of my own ones as well...

No USB drivers will install, and none work. I got an orange Exclamation mark next to all my USB controllers and hubs in Device Manager so atleast my system confirms they don't work.

Sorry if my issue is unclear but I'd respect any help dearly. Thanks!

It sounds like along the way with the hardware changes, and the driver installations, you deleted your USB drivers for the MB.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3901#dl

Go to the above link, specify 32 or 64 bit Win 7, the revision of your MB, and download and install the USB driver (last one on the list when I look at it here).

BTW, good argument for keeping a PS/2 keyboard around.

Thanks for fast reply, Those are USB 3.0 and I had them already... Sucks, no success on that part.

I've been searching for Chipset drivers and AMD drivers I might've lost. All AMD drivers are up to date it seems, but when I got into device manager, and tried to update my processor from there it said there was drivers but couldn't install them. Doing so with USB controllers/hubs just says there's no updates but they're still not working, got that exclamation mark.

If anyone else has this issue or something alike I can possibly give som information on the issue. I had a suspected unknown device along with the non working drivers in device manager as well. I went to properties - information - hardware ID and found out it was a Motherboard utility that had no supported drivers, it showed out to be "away mode" which I found out by searching online for the Hardware ID. Supposedly this away mode which was enabled in BIOS activated during load and corrupted my USB drivers in windows. I re-installed windows to fix it, went into BIOS and disabled "away mode" and haven't got stuck in load since then.

Hopefully this might help anyone with the same issue.
