Question Usb Ports on a motherboard or a cabinet?

I am confused about the arrangement of Usb Ports on a motherboard.On a motherboards description,it is written some are on rear (that i can see) and some are on front which I cant see.Please ckear confusion.Also do cabinets have usb ports installed because i see the ones on top which i dont think are on the motherboard?Please clear this confusion.

There are connection points on the motherboard for standard cables that the case ports have. You connect those cables to the motherboard to use the "internal" or "front" motherboard ports.
