Usb ports stopped working

Solution

you shouldn't need to be. it should use the drivers it has in the windows directory when it re-installs the devices
One by one the usb ports stopped working. The computer has two ports in the front and two in the back. First one in the front where I plug in a microphone stopped recognizing the mic. Then the other would not recognize it after a while. My printer is connected to one of the ports in the back and I got an error message saying there is no communication to the printer. I switched the port where it was plugged in and still no communication. I've unplugged power cords, restarted, restored to a date when I know it worked and still no ports work. I even tried to ad new hardware but nothing seems to be recognized thru usb ports.
Thanks,
Kenny

try uninstalling and reinstalling the usb drivers in device manager. right click and select uninstall on all the devices listed under the usb area and restart your computer and let it install drivers.

Hello ,

As the other guy said try reinstalling all your USB drivers. You dont need to be connected to the internet to reinstall the drivers unless you have a driver disc that came with your motherboard. In case Windows fails to detect your drivers after rebooting you'll need the disc.

Also, Did this issue happen suddenly or did u try to install some softwares or drivers on your PC ?
