OK so I recently bought a used XPS 630i for fairly cheap. The only downside was the it didn't have a hard drive. Which i was totally fine with since i have made similar purchases in the past. The problem I am currently having is that when I attempt to install windows on a new hard drive, at the xps dell splash screen, it freezes. I only have the keyboard and usb drive with windows 7. I removed the flash drive and only leave the keyboard connected and it doesn't freeze. Does this mean id have to install windows 7 another way? Ive tried to connect the flash drive on other usb ports and it still freezes. Never encountered this problem on other pcs.

Solution
I figured out the problem. It was the software I used to install windows onto the flash drive. I was using wintoflash. I guess that was making the PC freeze up. Tried again with "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" and everything worked without a problem.
