I have a problem that I'm having a really hard time trouble shooting. My USB ports seem to be crappy.. in general. Both of the mice I've plugged into it periodically give me the "doop doop" synching sound while the mouse completely stops working. It may be that they're both broke, and my new one's charging as I type to test it out, however I really don't think the problem is solely related to the mice, because the ports act all weird when I hook up a camera to them too.
Also, my system doesn't recognize that I have USB 2.0 support, even though I built the computer a year ago and it clearly DOES support USB2.0, as I've checked the mobo specs online...
For quick reference, my setup is:
Epox 9npa+ mobo
Athlon 64 3200+
1 gig ram
some hard drives etc.
I'm really confused, as I know nothing about how to deal with the USB ports. I'm relatively good with computers in general, but I'm not sure what could be causing these problems. Do I need to flash my BIOS (which I haven't done yet for some reason)? Are there some drivers somewhere I need to install? If there are, are they windows drivers, mobo drivers, mouse drivers? This is one area I really need some outside help with, so if anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
