USB removed by accident while copying

Hello,
My computer(and I tried 3 others) no longer recognizes the drive.

When I initially put the device in it lights up but then goes dark.

Under windows 7 device manager I get a yellow flag under the usb and when I select it I get this error message

this device cannot start (code 10)

Is it possible to somehow still get data off this device and/or get it to work?

You could give Parted Magic a try. Its a Linux based utility. Just make a Parted Magic CD and boot from CD and your computer might recognize your USB Flash drive.

Hi, I didn't quite have the same problem as you, but try looking at a post I just made which fixed my problem:

Try downloading and running the Transcend program I linked.


It will most likely erase the content on the drive, but should make it useable again.
Otherwise you could possibly manually clean the drive by going to command prompt given that your computer recognises it as a disk. You should be able to find the commands on google somewhere.
